The SVMCM 4.2 is an upgraded digital platform for online applications, document uploads, and tracking for Swami Vivekananda merit cum means scholarship 2026-2027. SVMCM 4.2 ensures faster processing of all the queries and documents and minimizes paperwork.

SVMCM 4.2 portal is crafted particularly for the Swami Vivekananda merit-cum means Scholarship started by the West Bengal state government and financed by the higher education department (Bikash Bhabhan W.B). The SVMCM 4.2 is crafted particularly for higher secondary students in classes 11th & 12th, UG, PG, M.Phil and doctorate-level courses in West Bengal.  To apply under the scheme at the swami vivekananda scholarship website you must fall under the below given eligibility criteria: 

  • Students must be residents of West Bengal @wb.gov.in.
  • For higher secondary level, students need a minimum of 60% marks in their last qualifying examination.
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students are required to have a minimum of 60% marks in their previous academic results. The family’s annual income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2026 applications will begin from 10 January 2026 onwards at the swami vivekananda scholarship official website​. The administration will be accepting new applications/registrations and renewals for the consecutive years. To apply for the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2025 students must be residents of WB, have got 60% in their previous year and maintain the same level of performance in consecutive years. The scholarship amount varies from ₹12,000/year to ₹96,000 a year depending upon the category of scholarship. This can be further classified as ₹1000 for higher-secondary students, ₹1000-₹5000 and ₹5000-₹8000 for UG and PG students respectively.

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Renewal 2026

Swami Vivekananda scholarship renewal for the session 2026-27 started on 10 January 2026 and is still live at the SMVCM 4.2 portal. The application and renewal process for the scholarship will remain online till 31 March 2026. Students must have successfully passed all examinations in the first attempt and secured a minimum of minimum 60% marks should be obtained from Higher Secondary Level to Undergraduate Level(combining both semester) at the promotional examination) and 50% marks (combining both semester) at Post Graduate Level.

  • 1st renewal: Submission of SEM 1 and SEM 2 Marksheet required
  • 2nd Renewal: Submission of SEM 3 and SEM 4 Marksheet required

DIRECTIONS FOR RENEWAL OF SVMCM SCHOLARSHIP OF MBBS STUDENTS

  • 1st renewal: With submission of 1st MBBS marksheet
  • 2nd Renewal: 2nd Prof MBBS marksheet will need to be furnished for the 2nd renewal in the following year.
  • 3rd and final Renewal: 3rd Prof Part 1 MBBS marksheet will need to be furnished for the 3rd and final renewal in the following year.

  1.  Visit the official SVMCM website at svmcm.wb.gov.in
  2. Login: Use your existing Applicant ID and Password to log in. If you’ve forgotten your credentials, utilize the ‘Forgot Applicant ID/Password’ option to retrieve them.
  3. Initiate Renewal Application: After logging in, select the ‘Renewal Application’ option to begin the process.
  4. Update Information and the required details in the application form.
  5. Upload Documents and Attach the necessary documents in the prescribed format and specified size requirements.
  6. Submit the Application by reviewing all the entered information and uploaded documents

Svmcm 4.2 Scholarship Status Check

The Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM) offers an online platform for students to check the status of their scholarship applications. After successfully applying, candidates can track the progress of their applications through the official SVMCM portal.

To check the status, applicants must log in to the portal using their registered credentials, such as the Applicant ID and Password, provided during the registration process. Once logged in, they can navigate to the “Application Status” section, where updates regarding the verification process, approval, and fund disbursement are displayed. The status can be displayed as pending, approved, rejected or payment processed. SMVC payment status can be verified at the SVMCM portal or through PFMS (Public financial management system). The higher education department and SVMCM administration update the renewal status 2-3 weeks after the actual renewal date and the same can be checked at the SVMCM 4.2 portal. 

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Last date

The Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM), administered by the Government of West Bengal, offers financial assistance to meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing higher education. Though there is no official statement or notice given by the administration as per the previous pattern the last date for the Swami Vivekananda scholarship will fall in 31 March 2026 and the application process for the 2026-27 academic session will commence from January 2026.
